GAIL Indian Speedstar, an athletics initiative

I thought there weren’t much initiatives done to help Indian athletes in their preparation and training and support them to help represent the country in the Olympics. But after hearing about GAIL Indian Speedstar initiative my thoughts have changed. GAIL (India) Limited and National Yuva Cooperative Society (NYCS), launched a grassroots athletics program GAIL Indian Speedstar on the 22nd of March, 2016 at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. This program is aimed at unearthing young talent across the length and breadth of India.

Indimeet FlipkartOutdoors – Bangalore 2016

From the past experience of running on tracks to catch the train for Bangalore on the day of Indimeet early in the morning, I wrapped up my work and left the beautiful Infosys Mysore’s office well in advance on Friday (TGIF) and reached Bangalore at night itself. The next day early morning (7.15 am early)  the indibus was scheduled to leave from the pickup point – Ganesha temple, Ulsoor lake for the #FlipkartOutdoors Indimeet at the Mango Mist resort.
